“Can’t Go Back Now” by The Weepies
Written by Teresa
I think I discovered The Weepies from a radio show called eTown that I would listen to while copy-cataloging new books at my job (a super tedious task). Once I heard Deb Talan’s voice I couldn’t get enough of it – I still can’t, just bought tickets to one of their shows in May. I have listened to all of their albums over and over on my 45-minute commute to and from work over the past 10 years. I had a hard time picking which song to include here because they have so many that are my “favorites”. “Painting by Chagall” was almost it because I think that may have been the first song I heard and again, her voice, but I also love how they harmonize so I went with “Can’t Go Back Now.” These songs have felt nurturing and empowering to me through all the ups and downs of daily life and some big decisions about my personal and professional life.
THANKS Teresa, it was great spending the week with you. Next week I talk to a mutual friend of mine and teresa’s.
