Song 29: Platonic love

10,000 Emerald Pools” by BØRNS

This song has passion, but in such a mellow way. I thought it would be something people might not have heard. Like many of his songs, it has a dreamy quality. Maybe I first heard it on a sunny day, or maybe it’s the imagery, but it gives me such a feeling of summertime freedom. Northern Minnesota in the summer is amazing. It’s a time when you get together with your friends and family, spending all day on the lake, having BBQs and campfires, roasting marshmallows and gazing at countless stars. The lyrics in the song just epitomize this is all I need, all I need is you and nothing else matters. It got me thinking about a love song not necessarily needing to be about a partner. It can apply to family and friends with the same sense of desperation: let’s just be together and make memories today. Time is standing still… you’re the treasure. This song is relaxed and beachy and glorious.

OUR LAST song with Nicole has already been on Five Song Project before. I love this! You can see how the same song evokes different memories and responses from people.
