“You’re Mine” by Phantogram
Nicole: I LOVE Phantogram. I was super excited when this album came out. I listened to it in its entirety many times through. This song was one that stuck in my head and then went on repeat. It’s just a strong sound and kind of different for them lyrically.
Sarah Barthel (half of the duo) is glamorous and edgy and cool. She’s commanding and strong in this song and completely owns the jealousy and possessive nature of the lyrics. I am the best and you are never going to find anyone else better than me. Who hasn’t felt that way in a relationship? It is best to listen to it really loudly and sing along, like a boss.
Phantogram can be a little haunting; I can’t get their songs out of my head. I feel like this song is reminiscent of some songs on their previous albums like “Black Out Days,” “Don’t Move,” “Howling at the Moon,” and” Fall in Love,” but kicked up an extra notch.
DON’T FORGET the question of the day goes up this afternoon on Facebook at 2:PM PST. Come back tomorrow for some 90s nostalgia.
